A New Layout Share

My New Years resolution this year was to craft more... and I have been. I just keep forgetting to blog about them lately! I don't know why either.
Well today I'm sharing a layout I made probably three weeks ago, maybe more. I used the Finders Keepers collection from Amy Tangerine.

This orange striped paper was perfect to use for a background. Once I picked the background I decided to cut some papers for layering. Then outlined them and glued them down.

Next I placed the title, which I usually don't do until the end of the layout. I used three different alphas. "Nap Time" is Thickers Memento in green, "in the" is Basic Grey Mono Alpha stickers in black, and Car is Thickers Foam words in white. But the word Car didn't come on the sheet, I wouldn't use the words Cherish or Darling on a layout most likely, so I cut them up to make my word.

To the left of the layout is where I placed my journaling spot with a few wood veneer pieces. Under the journaling I decided to use the roller phrase stamp that comes with the collection.

In the ephemera pack was a nice colorful flower piece. I cut it in half and placed it on the layout in two different places. Then used the roller phrase stamp again next to the flowers.

Thanks for taking a look! Have a great day!

Coffee Love

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I have a layout to share that I made for the Hip Kit Club Design Team tryouts.

This layout is all about the amazing organic coffee my boyfriend and I stumbled upon while stuck it a hail storm up in Flagstaff. I used the Shimelle True Stories collection because there are so many cute coffee elements, and of course I tried to use them all (but only used three).

I started by matting a plain piece of white cardstock onto the Cinnamon Roll paper. Then took two Heidi Swapp Mists in Butter and Coral and sprayed close up where my photo and layers were going to go. In my layers I used a 6x6 card, a photo overlay that I cut in half, a scalloped border punch, and a manufacturers strip with little coffee cups on it. Then went in with a few embellishments from the collection.

I also sprayed the two mists in the bottom right corner to bring in the extra colors from the main cluster. The coffee cup here was fussy cut from the Mocha paper and placed right against the edge of my paper. Then I used the left over piece of the manufacturers strip and a wood brad.

For the title I used the tile alphas that came in the Phrase and Alphabet pack. The giant LOVE letters were cut from the Salted Caramel paper, and slightly layered on top of each other. Then underneath, I took a sticker from the same sheet and cut little fishtails on the ends and used a punch to cut a few more chevrons to place next to it.

Dandelion Layout

Hi everyone! Today I have a layout to share of my friends and I at my cabin. We found a huge dandelion out in the forest and decided to take pictures of us blowing it.

I used the Dear Lizzy Serendipity collection for this layout. For my split background, I used a piece of white cardstock and one of the patterned papers. Then placed a border in the center and at the top.

I picked a few of my favorite pieces from the ephemera pack to layer to the right side of the photo. The LIFE wood veneer pieces aren't from the same collection, I think they're from Teresa Collins, along with the sequins I used on the white cardstock.

The border at the top is a piece of patterned paper with the backside of manufacturers strip still attached. For the word love, I put a chipboard heart in place of the O and a little enamel dot on the edge.

Under the photo is a water color word from the collection. I glued it down in two spots so it has a floating look to it.

Snow Layout

Okay, after this layout, I think I will finally be caught up! This is a layout of us getting snowed on, in May, in Arizona! It was totally unexpected!

I used the Shimelle True Stories collection. I loved all the clouds, so I pulled out the ephemera pieces, and used the cloud paper for my background. Then cut two large hunks of paper, one with sparkly rain drops!

I matted the photo with a piece of my My Mind's Eye glimmer cardstock, which I LOVE! Right under the photo is one of the photo overlays that has a sunburst on it. To the right of the photo I placed an umbrella which totally fit the situation, my camera was actually sitting underneath out umbrella so it didn't get wet.

The Thickers I used for the title are from the Amy Tan collection Rise and Shine and are called Alyx. They are chipboard letters with foil stripes.

I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Don't Forget to Smile layout

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Today I have a layout to share using pictures from New Years. I finally have all the bits of the Serendipity collection from American Crafts that I've wanted since it came out!

This layout is very girly. I just love the colors and patterns of the papers. I cut strips to lay behind my photos. The tilted design makes the layout stand out more.

The wood veneer pieces on this layout are all from Michaels. They now make their own and sell them individually. With this wood piece, I placed an ephemera piece on top then a beautiful dark blue bow with a puffy flower sticker on top.

The title Don't Forget to Smile was chosen as my title because we have such big cheesy smiles in the pictures. I used the Serendipity Thickers and a wood veneer.

Last weekend I went to Joanns to see all the new spring stuff, and ended up finding all the new Heidi Swapp color shine mists! The new colors are absolutely beautiful! I bought all six at 40% off! I used the new Raspberry color for some splatters.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Getting Crafty

I have had this layout done for a while now, and keep meaning to post it but my dad was in the hospital for two weeks and then I was super sick, so I never got around to it until now.

I started off using the Shimelle collection and ended up bringing in some ephemera from the Maggie Holmes collection. The title is using Gold Foil Doll Thickers.

I placed a doily down and then started building my layers up. Some of the papers were torn using a ruler and others were cut with my paper trimmer.

The cluster up in the corner has the same papers from the main area with the picture, some torn and some cut. I finished off the cluster with some cute bows I had bought at Target.

After I glued my layers down I tucked in some paper flowers, a camera and a vellum banner I cut.

While out shopping one day with my boyfriend at Bookmans, I came across a little crafty section. There was a bucket of alphabets so I looked through it. I found these AWESOME gold foil tiny alphas in a cursive font for $1.00!! I wish there were more, I would have bought them all! But anyways, I used those tiny alphas to spell out My Crafty Friends on the pink and white striped banner under the polka dot bow.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Two Page Layouts...

Today I have a two page layout and a regular layout to share.

Just a Normal Weekend
This is the first two page layout I have made on my own without a sketch! I think it turned out really nicely! I used a lot from my stash and the Scraptastic August Boys of Summer kits. The papers are from Crate Paper and the Thickers are my favorite font Hardcover.

I started off by picking my background papers. I wanted them to be plain card stock so I could use lots of different patterns for my layers. I ended up outlining my papers so everything looked connected.

My title is a two parter that starts on the first layout just under the banners, and ends on the second layout just above the banners. I added some splatters, arrow brads and enamel dots to finish it up.

Fun Camping

Here's my next layout using the Scraptastic Boys of Summer kits and my stash.
I loved the papers in the Boys of Summer kit so much I had to find the paper pack. I bought the Boys Rule paper pack from Michaels for 6 dollars the other day and was so excited! Some of the papers in the kit are from other brands so I didn't end up getting those ones.

I love the way the acetate orange alphas look next to the foam Thickers.

My favorite part of this layout is the banner across the top under the ripped checkered wood grain paper. The three larger banner pieces are exclusive cut aparts from the kit. The flair badge and little wooden alien are also exclusives from the kit.

Thank you so much for looking! Have a great rest of your week!
