Love This Layout

Today I have a layout to share of my friends and I at the Grand Canyon for my birthday.

For this layout, I used the Scraptastic Shake it off kit, add on and stamp set.

I added a few things like the polka dot vellum, glitter washi tape and the glitter word Thickers from the Notes and Things collection.

I layered some papers and a piece of DCWV vellum and matted my photo. After I made my layers, I put my title down almost right away, which I don't normally do. My title usually comes in at the end. Then went around the page with some gold washi tape and cork stars. The stars were too plain for me so I stamped on them using the polka dot background from the Shake it Off stamp set.

I wanted to do a different kind of cluster in the upper corner instead of just layering papers and adding a sticker. So I didn't put the cluster on the edge like I normally do. And I didn't use any banners or layers of paper. Instead I used some of the cut apart cards and wood shapes from the kit and a little bit of gold washi.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a GREAT Thanksgiving holiday!

Always So Happy

Always So Happy

Today I have a layout to share using the Scraptastic November Shake it Off kit and add on. I added some gold washi tape and those wonderful Thicker words from American Crafts.
I didn't exactly know which direction I was going to take with this layout. All I knew is that I wanted to use the awesome Feather background paper from Webster's Pages.

This layout has less layers and more embellishments which isn't normal for me.. I usually embellish with more paper than stickers and such.

I love the wood veneer on top of the glitter tape. It's like a tone on tone with different textures. This layout took me about an hour just because of placement decisions.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great Sunday!

Get Inspired Magazine

Get Inspired Magazine

At the beginning of October I had seen a post on Instagram about being published in an online magazine called Get Inspired Magazine from the blog Let's Get Sketchy. I decided to check it out, and found a post about doing a sketch. I decided to give it a try and applied with a layout I made.

Here's the Sketch:

And here's the layout:

On my blog post a few days after posting it I got a comment... this is what it said:
Wow I just love this page, we would love to have it in the next issue of Inspired Magazine (for which I am the Assistant Editor)
There was more to the comment but it included emails and instructions on what to do so I just deleted that part.

I was so excited but didn't want to post anything until it was published... well now it's published so here's the link to the magazine!

There are some amazing layouts in the magazine so stop by and check it out!

My Little Cuddle Butt

Hi ladies! I'm doing a little late night scrapbooking tonight! I recently dog sat for my brother and my aunt. I ended up having 5 dogs in my house at once, and a cat. This is Chichi, my brother's mini pincher. She always wants to cuddle, and I love it!

I pulled out my Scraptastic kit from last month to do this layout.

The star sequins from Studio Calico have those little holes in the middle. I didn't want them to show so I used some Queen and Company brads from my stash.

I call Chichi "My little cuddle butt" all the time, that's where my title came from. The "Cuddle Butt" font is a stamp set from Scraptastic called High Strung. I also used The Girl stamp set to stamp the circles with the arrow, and placed them in some of my layers.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Fright Night

Today I have two Halloween layouts to share that I completely forgot to blog about because there's just so much excitement going on right now for me! But I can't share that excitement yet, but I will soon! I made these two layouts about ten days ago and it just skipped my mind to add them here.

In this layout, I used the Scraptastic Thriller kit and add on. The picture I chose is from 2011 at a party at my friends house. The guys were trying to be scary!

I layered a couple stickers with a skull wood veneer at the bottom of the photo. I love the exclusive wood veneers that came in the kit!  The little banners are too cute tucked underneath the Friends sticker.

I love doing split background layouts! They're just fun and looks nice! I loved both of the papers so much that I decided to cut the skull paper at 7 inches and the purple chevron paper at 5 1/2 inches and glued them together so I could still have some of the paper left over.

We Are Oh So Spooky

For this layout, I ended up drawing up a little sketch by hand. I was getting ready for bed, and it just popped in my head. I didn't want to forget about it, so I drew it out quickly so I could work on it the next day.
I love the pictures from Halloween 2011! Everyone dressed up and and we had such a great time and the Scraptastic Thriller kit is just perfect for these layouts! I chose to do all the pictures in black and white so they would stand out more with the fun and bright colors in the kit!

All the banners were cut by hand. I just cut different sized papers, then folded them in half and cut diagonally at one end to cut out a triangle. Then unfolded the paper and there are the banners!

I used a Halloween spiderweb border punch to layer under the pictures and a Scraptastic exclusive print and cut tab. I did mini journalling on the tab and tucked it under a picture.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of your week!

October 2011

October 2011

Today I have a Halloween layout to share! I bought the Thriller kit from Scraptastic thinking I would use it for this years Halloween photos, but I couldn't wait any longer!

I love the colorful diagonal stripe paper from Authentique, but thought it was a little too bold as a background. So I matted black cardstock on top. I used lots of bits and pieces from the Jillibean Soup Owloween Pea Pods and the Jillibean Soup Witches Brew Pea Pods to layer on top of the Bella Blvd. cut apart paper.

I stamped the spider web down in white Prima ink and then did a couple splatters with my Mister Huey's Opaque White. Then added a few enamel dots here and there.

Here's a close up of my layer cluster. There were so many fun Halloween themed items in the kit, I wanted to use them all!

My favorite part of this layout is where I stamped the cute spider from the Scraptastic Thriller stamp set. I embossed the little spider in purple Stampendous embossing powder.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!

California

In 2010 my friends and I went to Santa Clarita California for a huge Sizzix Warehouse sale. After we left the sale, we had a friend that was living in L.A. and she came and got us and took us all around.

I used the Scraptastic The Girl kit, add on, the High Stung stamp set and the September The girl stamps for this layout.

The High Stung alphabet stamp set is so awesome. I saw one of the design team members for Scraptastic stamp her title down then fussy cut it out. So I decided to give it a try and LOVE it! I will most likely be using this stamp set a lot.

I also used the circle arrow stamp around the layout and inside the circles. Then added Studio Calico sequin stars in white for some fun. A 1inch circle punch fits the circles on the background paper perfectly. So I punched out some circles and placed them randomly.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of your week!

Loving this Picture

Today I have two layouts to share. One using the September Scraptastic Girl kit and add-on and the other a layout from my stash.

This first layout is using the Scraptastic kit. I love this kit, the colors are beautiful!

I felt the top of my layout needed a little something so I layered a few pieces from Heidi Swapp and added a few splatters in Blush and Navy.

I layered a whole bunch of little die cuts on the right side of the photo and added a strip of metallic heart rub ons from the Shimelle collection.

A Day to Remember

My next layout I made is for my aunt for her anniversary. I was looking through my stash and decided to use a collection I haven't used in years! It's the Antique Paperie from colorbok.

I had so much fun creating this layout! There were SO many bits and pieces in this collection from journaling cards to epoxy word stickers to die cuts and tissue paper flowers! This layout took me about 45 minutes to create and I think that's only because I decided to ink the edges of everything with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a GREAT week!!

Happy in Love

Today I have a layout to share using a sketch over at the
 Let's Get Sketchy blog.

I made this layout using the Scraptastic September The Girl kit and add on.

In the sketch there are sewn circles. I used my gold thread I got at Michael's to sew the double circles around the page.

The kit came with some October Afternoon Meringue Alphas but I didn't want the title to be all white so I grabbed the same exact alpha from my stash in red called Rhubarb.

I used my scalloped edge border punch to punch two borders, one for the top of the layout and one to accentuate the banner at the bottom of the layout. I then used a zigzag stitch to stitch the papers together. I love doing that!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a GREAT weekend!

"Take Five" Challenge

Today I have a layout to share using a challenge at Scraptastic. The challenge was to use five different size circles in five different patterns.

I chose to use the September The Girl kit for this layout. I used my Silhouette and a 2 inch and 2 1/2 inch circle punch. The other sizes are 5 inch, 4 inch and 3 inch.

Beautiful pink glitter washi tape from Glitz came in the kit. I put two strips of washi down on paper and used my heart punch to punch out five little hearts.

I decided to outline everything on this layout to make it all come together since everything was so scattered. The picture in this layout has no filter on it and I didn't edit it at all.

Thank you for looking! Have a great week!

A Great Day to get Two Layouts Done

Hi ladies! Today was the perfect day to work on some layouts! I got my Scraptastic September kit yesterday and started using it right away! I was up until almost three in the morning working on these two layouts! I would occasionally stop to go on Pinterest, Facebook and at one point I watched an episode of Bones on Netflix.

As soon as I saw that the Studio Calico sequin stars came in the kit I knew I wanted to do something fun with them! I wandered if my sewing machine would sew through them but I didn't want to have to glue them down and get my needle all sticky.

But I had to glue them down so I used my Zig 2 way glue and just put a tiny dot, waited for it to dry and then sewed right through. It worked perfectly. My needle didn't get sticky and you can't even tell that I glued them down!

Here's a close up of my favorite part of the layout. You can see the awesome Glitter washi tape from Glitz! I want to washi everything with it!

Here's my second layout I made.
At my friends birthday party another friend brought a bottle of coke with her. She didn't even realize it said "Share a coke with friends! We thought it was too cute and had to take a picture!

I used October Afternoon Daily Flash alphas. The white ones came in the kit, the red are from my stash. I outlined them so they would stand out better and they look really nice that way!

The kits came with some awesome little bits this month, so I layered some here and there and used a scalloped punch on the super cute heart paper!

Thank you for looking!! I hope you have a great weekend!

Two Page Layouts...

Today I have a two page layout and a regular layout to share.

Just a Normal Weekend
This is the first two page layout I have made on my own without a sketch! I think it turned out really nicely! I used a lot from my stash and the Scraptastic August Boys of Summer kits. The papers are from Crate Paper and the Thickers are my favorite font Hardcover.

I started off by picking my background papers. I wanted them to be plain card stock so I could use lots of different patterns for my layers. I ended up outlining my papers so everything looked connected.

My title is a two parter that starts on the first layout just under the banners, and ends on the second layout just above the banners. I added some splatters, arrow brads and enamel dots to finish it up.

Fun Camping

Here's my next layout using the Scraptastic Boys of Summer kits and my stash.
I loved the papers in the Boys of Summer kit so much I had to find the paper pack. I bought the Boys Rule paper pack from Michaels for 6 dollars the other day and was so excited! Some of the papers in the kit are from other brands so I didn't end up getting those ones.

I love the way the acetate orange alphas look next to the foam Thickers.

My favorite part of this layout is the banner across the top under the ripped checkered wood grain paper. The three larger banner pieces are exclusive cut aparts from the kit. The flair badge and little wooden alien are also exclusives from the kit.

Thank you so much for looking! Have a great rest of your week!

Sharing a Layout I'm Not Happy With

This layout was a HUGE challenge for me! I worked on it for about 5 days and still don't really love it!
After I stapled the title down I decided I was going to give up on it. Then I ended up coming back to it today and adding the top and bottom strips of arrow paper and called it quits.

The floppy disk frame is so cool, I had to use it! I also used one of the stamps from the Scraptastic Boys of Summer stamp set and then outlined it in white to make it stand out a little more.

I don't really know any other way to adhere down those acetate alphas except for using my tiny attacher to staple them down. So I stapled them down and it adds a little dimension and looks nice.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
