A New Layout Share

My New Years resolution this year was to craft more... and I have been. I just keep forgetting to blog about them lately! I don't know why either.
Well today I'm sharing a layout I made probably three weeks ago, maybe more. I used the Finders Keepers collection from Amy Tangerine.

This orange striped paper was perfect to use for a background. Once I picked the background I decided to cut some papers for layering. Then outlined them and glued them down.

Next I placed the title, which I usually don't do until the end of the layout. I used three different alphas. "Nap Time" is Thickers Memento in green, "in the" is Basic Grey Mono Alpha stickers in black, and Car is Thickers Foam words in white. But the word Car didn't come on the sheet, I wouldn't use the words Cherish or Darling on a layout most likely, so I cut them up to make my word.

To the left of the layout is where I placed my journaling spot with a few wood veneer pieces. Under the journaling I decided to use the roller phrase stamp that comes with the collection.

In the ephemera pack was a nice colorful flower piece. I cut it in half and placed it on the layout in two different places. Then used the roller phrase stamp again next to the flowers.

Thanks for taking a look! Have a great day!

Quick Christmas Layout

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday week! Today I have a quick Christmas layout to share using the October Afternoon Under the Tree collection.

I mainly worked with strips of paper on kind of a split background. Then just added tons of embellishments along the right edge of the plaid paper. I used black glitter foam Thickers for my title.

Thanks for taking a look! Have a great New Years, and be safe!

Fall Layout

Hello everyone! Today I have a layout to share quickly. I haven't taken any close ups, but you can see everything pretty well.

I used the Carta Bella Fall Blessings collection. For the leaves at the top and bottom of the layout, I used a stamp set, Versa Mark ink and multiple colors of embossing powders. Then cut them all out by hand. I did the same with the leaves that are falling on the page.

I cut the title banner out of the borders sheet, and cut the large journaling spot out of the 4x6 cards.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Elle's Studio Black Friday Grab Bags

Hi everyone! I finally got my Elle's Studio Grab Bags from Black Friday after they were lost in the mail for a few days. I started using them right away! The grab bags were STUFFED with awesome goodies!

I had a picture from about 2011 I think of my boyfriend and I after we made a homemade slip n' slide in our backyard.
I love using bright colors for outdoor layouts. Split backgrounds are always fun but the middle of the layout need something a little more so I layered a couple pieces of paper and used a border punch from Fiskars on one of them.

Outlining papers always brings everything together so I outlined everything except for the larger background paper.

There are seven clusters of embellishments total including my title. They're from various collections from Elle's Studio.

In this close up I'm showing some of the clusters up close and the thread that I tucked underneath in random places.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Huge News!!

I have some HUGE NEWS to share today! I have been selected to be on the design team for A Walk Down Memory Lane! I am so thrilled and excited to be on their design team! I have already gotten started on my layouts to share on their blog. Stay tuned for previews and a whole bunch of fun!

Love
Today I'm sharing a layout of my boyfriend and I on my dad's birthday this year. We were all in the kitchen getting ready to sing Happy Birthday and I was snapping a few pics.
I love the Be Loved collection from Fancy Pants. I chose to use the busy heart paper as my background and think it turned out very nicely as a background.

I used the large alpha that came in the collection pack and outlined it with a black pen to help it stand out. Then added a flair badge over the O. Only a few pieces were outline in the layout, I felt some of the other pieces didn't need it.

I cut out the journaling piece with the hearts around it from the brag pad and layered it underneath my photo with a few other layers.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

My Little Cuddle Butt

Hi ladies! I'm doing a little late night scrapbooking tonight! I recently dog sat for my brother and my aunt. I ended up having 5 dogs in my house at once, and a cat. This is Chichi, my brother's mini pincher. She always wants to cuddle, and I love it!

I pulled out my Scraptastic kit from last month to do this layout.

The star sequins from Studio Calico have those little holes in the middle. I didn't want them to show so I used some Queen and Company brads from my stash.

I call Chichi "My little cuddle butt" all the time, that's where my title came from. The "Cuddle Butt" font is a stamp set from Scraptastic called High Strung. I also used The Girl stamp set to stamp the circles with the arrow, and placed them in some of my layers.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Fright Night

Today I have two Halloween layouts to share that I completely forgot to blog about because there's just so much excitement going on right now for me! But I can't share that excitement yet, but I will soon! I made these two layouts about ten days ago and it just skipped my mind to add them here.

In this layout, I used the Scraptastic Thriller kit and add on. The picture I chose is from 2011 at a party at my friends house. The guys were trying to be scary!

I layered a couple stickers with a skull wood veneer at the bottom of the photo. I love the exclusive wood veneers that came in the kit!  The little banners are too cute tucked underneath the Friends sticker.

I love doing split background layouts! They're just fun and looks nice! I loved both of the papers so much that I decided to cut the skull paper at 7 inches and the purple chevron paper at 5 1/2 inches and glued them together so I could still have some of the paper left over.

We Are Oh So Spooky

For this layout, I ended up drawing up a little sketch by hand. I was getting ready for bed, and it just popped in my head. I didn't want to forget about it, so I drew it out quickly so I could work on it the next day.
I love the pictures from Halloween 2011! Everyone dressed up and and we had such a great time and the Scraptastic Thriller kit is just perfect for these layouts! I chose to do all the pictures in black and white so they would stand out more with the fun and bright colors in the kit!

All the banners were cut by hand. I just cut different sized papers, then folded them in half and cut diagonally at one end to cut out a triangle. Then unfolded the paper and there are the banners!

I used a Halloween spiderweb border punch to layer under the pictures and a Scraptastic exclusive print and cut tab. I did mini journalling on the tab and tucked it under a picture.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of your week!

October 2011

October 2011

Today I have a Halloween layout to share! I bought the Thriller kit from Scraptastic thinking I would use it for this years Halloween photos, but I couldn't wait any longer!

I love the colorful diagonal stripe paper from Authentique, but thought it was a little too bold as a background. So I matted black cardstock on top. I used lots of bits and pieces from the Jillibean Soup Owloween Pea Pods and the Jillibean Soup Witches Brew Pea Pods to layer on top of the Bella Blvd. cut apart paper.

I stamped the spider web down in white Prima ink and then did a couple splatters with my Mister Huey's Opaque White. Then added a few enamel dots here and there.

Here's a close up of my layer cluster. There were so many fun Halloween themed items in the kit, I wanted to use them all!

My favorite part of this layout is where I stamped the cute spider from the Scraptastic Thriller stamp set. I embossed the little spider in purple Stampendous embossing powder.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!

Relay For Life

Today I have two different layouts to share.

Over the past couple of months my friends, family and I have been getting ready for a Relay for Life event to help stop the fight against cancer!

This years event was Carnival themed so I got the Everyday Circus line from Fancy Pants Designs. The papers and colors in this line are beautiful!

I used my Silhouette to cut out the background and then my circle punches on some of the papers to back some of the stars. I also outlined the stars that i backed with the papers.

Then I used some of the My Minds Eye metal stars inside of 3 of the die cut stars. I added some splatters, a couple ephemera pieces and a title at the very top. I put the whole background die cut up on pop dots to make it stand out more.

Our Relay for Life Team Members
This layout is of most of our team members setting up out booths at the Relay.

I used the super cute border strip with the Circus people on it because I feel like we all act like were in a circus sometimes lol. Also, I cut out the banners from one of the border strips for the top of the layout.

I love that now Fancy Pants does two different sized tags. I used one of each. I journaled on one of them about how well we had done at the event.

Putting a couple buttons and a flair around the banner helped it stand out a little more. And I love the alpha sheets that come in the paper collection. I used the large 12 x 6 alpha sheet along with one of the smaller alphas from the 12 x 12 sheet.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great week!

Photo Booth Fun

Today I have a layout to share from a Relay for Life event from the past weekend.

I used the Everyday Circus collection from Fancy Pants. I thought the collection would go perfect with the event because it was Carnival themed.

On Scrapbook.com, there's a group I join every once in a while that does sketch challenges. I decided to join this month and use a sketch for this layout. (sketch down below)

I pretty much followed the sketch exactly except for a few changes here and there.

California

In 2010 my friends and I went to Santa Clarita California for a huge Sizzix Warehouse sale. After we left the sale, we had a friend that was living in L.A. and she came and got us and took us all around.

I used the Scraptastic The Girl kit, add on, the High Stung stamp set and the September The girl stamps for this layout.

The High Stung alphabet stamp set is so awesome. I saw one of the design team members for Scraptastic stamp her title down then fussy cut it out. So I decided to give it a try and LOVE it! I will most likely be using this stamp set a lot.

I also used the circle arrow stamp around the layout and inside the circles. Then added Studio Calico sequin stars in white for some fun. A 1inch circle punch fits the circles on the background paper perfectly. So I punched out some circles and placed them randomly.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of your week!

Group Photo

Today I have two layouts to share.

This layout is using the Fancy Pants As You Wish collection. I've had it for a while, and have been mostly using it for pictures of my trip with my best friend and her family to the Philippines in 2007.

I loved this map paper and decided to use it as my background and I didn't want to cover a lot of it. So i ripped little strips of paper for my layers under the photo. The I cut the chevron paper and decided it was too busy so I just flipped it over to the dark blue side and used that.

I added a few gold splatters here and there and used the gold foil paper, that came in the paper pack, and a little burst punch to add around the splatters.

Sunbathing on a Hot Summer Day

In this layout, I took photos of my dog Billy lounging in the backyard. It was probably 110 degrees that day, but he loved it! I made this layout using the Fancy Pants Memories Captured collection.

I loved the Polaroid paper that came in the kit. I cut the pictures of Billy a little bit smaller than the frames so you could see the color behind them, and then sewed around the pictures.

I thought the star background paper and the superstar frame suited him very well since he thinks he's a superstar!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of your week!
